### Chapter 3--Linear Models and Systems

 Essential Question:  How can all that we already know about linear functions be related to data collections? Unit Rationale:  Reviewing linear equations and arithmetic sequences in order to relate to collected data. As a result of this unit, students will be able to: Ø  Write the equation of a line in intercept and point-slope forms. Ø  Relate recursive form of the arithmetic sequences to linear equations. Ø  Understand slope and rate of change. Ø  Fit a line to data Ø  Use residuals to test the fit of a line Ø  Solve systems of first degree equations in two variables by graphing, substitution and elimination.
